Tanzid in, Riyad out as BCB announces Asia Cup Squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup on Saturday.  Tanzid Hasan Tamim from the Under-19 world cup winning team was included in the squad for the first time, while senior cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad was chopped.

Regarding the absence of Riyad, BCB chief selector Minhazul Abedin said, "We held many discussions about him. The team management took the decision thinking about the future. We think it was a good decision."

Meanwhile, Tanzid's stunning performance in the Emerging Asia Cup opened the door to the national squad for him.

Shakib Al Hasan (C), Liton Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Sheikh Mahedi, Nasum Ahmed, Shamim Hossain, Afif Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Mohammad Naim Sheikh.
