Bangladesh set 307-run target for Australia

Bangladesh have posted 306/8 in 50 overs against Australia in their ODI World Cup 2023 match on Saturday in Pune.

Asked to bat first, Bangladesh lost some early wickets but Towhid Hridoy scored 74. Apart from him, Najmul Hossain Shanto also scored 45 runs.

For Australia, Adam Zampa and Sean Abbott took two wickets each. Marcus Stoinis also took one wicket for Australia.

Earlier, Australia skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh are playing without their regular skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who has been out due to injury. In his absence, Najmul Hossain Shanto will be leading the team.

In place of Shakib, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan is in the squad. Mustafizur Rahman has replaced Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Nasum Ahmed replaced Shariful Islam.

Meanwhile, Australia are missing out on the services of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who has been replaced by Sean Abbott. Steve Smith has also made his way back into the team.

Australia reached the semifinals on the back of one of the greatest ODI innings played by Glenn Maxwell.
