Tabith Aowal era begins at Football Federation

Tabith Aowal has been elected as the new president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for a four-year term, ending the era of Salahuddin.

Tabith received 123 votes while his rival candidate Mizanur managed only 5 votes.

Chief Election Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Ahmed made the announced of the results at around 6:30 pm.

A total of 46 candidates are vying for 21 positions in the BFF Executive Committee.

Defeating Major General Amin Ahmed, Salahuddin was first elected as BFF president in 2008. 

He won the post as one of the finest players in the history of Bangladeshi football.

Later, he held the post of BFF chief till 2024.
