Champions head to BFF in an open-top bus

Bangladesh Women's football team won the 2024 edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, beating Nepal 2-1 in the final of the tournament at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal on Wednesday.

The winning team landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon. 

On arrival at the airport, captain Sabina Khatun and head coach Peter Butler talked to the media. 

Later, the women's team boarded an open-top bus leading to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) headquarters in the city’s Motijheel via Airport-Expressway-FDC-Shat Rastar Mor-Mogbazar Flyover-Kakrail-Paltan-Nottredame College-Shapla Chottor. 

The winners of the victory are waving back to the greetings of the enthusiastic fans on the open-top bus.

Bangladesh's women's team clinched their first SAFF Championship victory in 2022, also by defeating Nepal. At the time, an open-top bus parade was arranged to celebrate the victory.
