Khaled Masud Pilot elected as BCB director

Former national cricketer Khaled Masud Pilot has secured a position as a director on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) following the board's election held at a five-star hotel in the capital on Monday.

Representing Category-3 (former cricketers), Pilot won the directorship with 35 out of 43 votes cast by councilors in this category. 

His opponent, Debabrata Pal, nominated by Jahangirnagar University, received 7 votes, while one vote was reportedly invalid.

Category-3 councilors included representatives from organisations such as Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar, as well as educational institutions like Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, and Chittagong University. 

Additionally, five councilors appointed by the National Sports Council participated in the voting. 

Pilot’s strong support from these groups led to his successful election as a BCB director.
