Bulbul calls on ICC to take action against Tamim’s board

Aminul Islam Bulbul has claimed that he remains the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), stating that the elected board of directors was dismissed unethically. 

In a press release, he rejected the decision of the National Sports Council (NSC) and dismissed the allegations of irregularities in the election as baseless. 

According to the former president, the election held on October 6, 2025 was conducted with complete transparency and there were no irregularities whatsoever. 

He added that there is no basis for the allegations raised in the NSC investigation. 

Moreover, he argued that the NSC has no authority to investigate the BCB. 

Bulbul described the dissolution of the BCB’s elected committee by the NSC and the subsequent formation of an ad hoc committee as clear government interference in the affairs of the cricket board.

Bulbul announced that he would complain to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and urge it to take action against the BCB. 

However, the NSC has already forwarded the report of its independent investigation committee to the ICC. 

After finding evidence of irregularities in the election, the NSC dissolved Bulbul’s committee, nominated Tamim Iqbal as president, and announced an 11-member ad hoc committee. 

The NSC has also sent the list of this new committee to the ICC, from where the BCB has reportedly received a positive response. 

Along with Tamim Iqbal, the chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury has been asked to attend the upcoming ICC and ACC meetings.
