BCB voting on June 7

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finally announced the schedule for its upcoming elections. 

According to the schedule released on Saturday, the election for the BCB board of directors will be held on June 7.

Nomination papers will be sold on May 20 and 21 as a preliminary step. 

Interested candidates can collect their nomination papers from the BCB office between 10am and 4pm on those two days.

The Election Commission will publish the list of valid nominations on May 23. Objections and hearings regarding the nomination list will take place the following day. 

Candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations between 10am and 2pm on May 25, after which the final list of candidates will be published at 2pm the same day.

Applications for postal or e-ballots will also be accepted on May 25. Following completion of the ballot process, the election for BCB directors as well as the posts of president and vice-president will be held in the board room on June 7, with results announced on the same day.

As in previous elections, 23 directors will be elected from three categories: 10 from Category-1 (district-division), 12 from Category-2 (club), and one from the former cricketers’ category.
