Infantino remains president after tumultuous period

Gianni Infantino remains Fifa president after after receiving the backing of senior executives in a meeting in Morocco, where he apologised for "errors" he made.

Infantino's position has been under scrutiny since the controversial plan to sell stakes in its competitions to private investors, reports BBC.

Fifa statement: "The Fifa Management Board in attendance reaffirmed their full support for Fifa President Gianni Infantino".

Infantino looks set to fight for re-election for a fourth term and will need 106 votes from Fifa's 211 members to win.
