Bangladesh achieves success in two skills at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026

Bangladesh has achieved success in two skills at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, held in Shanghai, China.

Bangladesh secured 10th place in Computer Software Testing and 15th place in Mobile Applications Development among around 1,400 competitors from 68 countries competing in 64 skills, a press release said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh competitor Mashfi Rezowan Saikat was selected for the Best of Nation recognition at the WorldSkills International General Assembly. 

Saikat, who competed in Computer Software Testing, received the recognition at the closing ceremony this evening.

A five-member Bangladesh delegation, led by National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) Executive Chairman and Secretary Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, attended the closing ceremony.

On the sidelines of the competition, the Bangladesh delegation held meetings with international partners and skills development organisations. 

The discussions focused on Bangladesh's skills development system, international cooperation and strengthening the country's participation in WorldSkills Japan 2028.
