Bangladesh bat first in Rawalpindi test

In the first Test of the two-match series, Pakistan won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Friday.

The city is hosting a Test after a gap of 15 years. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are playing a Test in Pakistan for the first time in 17 years.

Bangladesh included opener Saif Hassan in this game as the 96th Test cricketer from Bangladesh. He was about to get his Test debut in Kolkata last year, but a sudden hand injury delayed his appearance in international cricket.

The 21-year-old right-handed batsman played 38 First-class matches and scored 2336 in an average of 45.80 with hitting four centuries and 12 fifties. His has a double-century in the First-class cricket under his belt.

Tamim Iqbal, Najmul HossainShanto and Rubel Hossain made a comeback to the playing XI. Tamim was out of action for a long time due to personal reasons while Najmul and Rubel had been overlooked for poor performance in the Tests.
