Bangladesh have managed to pull things back in this session. The hosts managed 78 runs in the session but lost four crucial wickets after starting with a lead of 109.

Abu Jayed gave Bangladesh the perfect start as he dismissed Babar Azam on the second ball of the day. Babar, who walked in unbeaten on 143, guided a length ball straight to first slip and failed to add to his overnight score. Asad Shafiq too had an opportunity to convert his half-century to a big score but succumbed to Ebadot Hossain in the 96th over.

Both Jayed and Hossain made the new ball work in their favour and continuously tested the hosts. Shafiq's issue against the incoming delivery was once again exposed as he looked scratchy and eventually was caught behind off an inside edge. At that stage, Pakistan's lead was just 120 and things could have been a lot worse.

Haris Sohail edged one to the 'keeper but none of the Bangladesh players spotted the error. Mohammad Rizwan came out with some pleasing urgency but fell to Rubel Hossain. The pacer struck on the first ball he bowled in the day as Rizwan pulled a short ball to fine leg. Yasir Shah walked in with the scorecard reading 374 for 6 and extended his association with Sohail to 41 to frustrate the visitors. Sohail stayed unbeaten on 54 and helped the side cross 400 to transfer the pressure back on the visitors.

Rubel bags another

Full and straight and Yasir wanted to whip that one to the on side. Doesn't connect and was plumb in front. It was given not out and the review was taken. Crashing into the leg stump and Yasir falls after a 41-run stand with Haris Sohail. Lead - 182

Rubel strikes

Rizwan goes and Bangladesh are fighting back. Short ball and it didn't bounce much. Rizwan wanted to pull that one and the top edge flew to fine leg. Easy catch and Pakistan are now six down. Their lead is 141.

Haris Sohail survives

No appeal from the Bangladesh players. Length ball and Sohail had poked at it. There was a faint edge but no one appealed.

Two for Ebadot Hossain

Shafiq goes now. The new ball is working for Bangladesh and they are making it talk. Length ball and it nipped in to take the inside edge. Easy catch for the 'keeper. Both overnight batsmen now dismissed. Pakistan's lead is 120.

BIG MOMENT

Babar has failed to add to his overnight score. Length ball and outside off and Babar has guided that one to first slip. Abu Jayed gets the wicket. A wicket on the second ball of the day and just what Bangladesh needed. The Pakistan No. 4 falls on the first ball he faces in the day.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the third day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Things not looking good for Bangladesh in Rawalpindi as they ended the second day conceding a lead of 109. Both Babar Azam and Shan Masood struck centuries with the former staying unbeaten on 143. Bangladesh pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson said that his pacers were short on pace and that didn't help. However, Gibson was hopeful that the bowlers will learn from their mistake as they aim to find their way back in the game.

It's not going to be easy as Pakistan aim to bat Bangladesh out of the contest. Babar's stats in Pakistan are astounding and he's the biggest threat to Bangladesh's hopes. If they can manage to get him early, there could still be a contest. If they don't, they can kiss 60 World Tes Championship points goodbye. Stay tuned as we'll bring you more updates.
