Bangladesh score 189 runs

Bangladesh scored 189 runs against Afghanistan after losing two wickets after winning the toss at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Friday.

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal decided to bat first in the second ODI.

As it was expected, the Tigers remained unchanged after an epic victory in the first game that also helped them lead the three-match series 1-0.

Earlier, Bangladesh recovered from 45-6 to beat Afghanistan by four wickets. Thanks to a monumental batting of Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz who put on record 174-run partnership for the seventh wicket stand.

Today's victory will give Bangladesh an unassailable 2-0 lead and wrap up the series.

Disappointing at losing the first game from a winning position, Afghanistan made three changes to the side in a bid to level the series.

Batter Riaz Hasan, allrounder Azmatullah Omarzai and left arm pacer Farid Ahmad Malik came in place of Ibrahim Zadran, Gulbadin Naib and Yamin Ahmadzai.
