'I have cancelled the contract', Shakib told Samakal

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has cancelled the contract with Betwinner News.

Shakib confirmed The Daily Samakal about the cancellation of his contract with Betwinner News -- a sister concern of betting site Betwinner.

On Thursday, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon warned Shakib Al Hasan saying that he won't be selected for Bangladesh squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, until the all-rounder cancels agreement with Betwinner news.

Following a discussion regarding Shakib's contract with Betwinner, the board president spoke with the media at the Beximco offices. Shakib, a great cricketer, was supposed to communicate his decision in writing, but he has yet to do so.

Papon emphasized the BCB's strict decision in this regard. Shakib's contract with BCB will be terminated if he and the board are unable to resolve the issue.

Shakib won't have a relationship with BCB if he doesn't drop his contract (with Betwinner), Papon informed the media.
