Ten Hag confirms Ronaldo staying at Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo won't be leaving Manchester United in the final days of the transfer market, according to Erik ten Hag.

In order to play in the Champions League, Ronaldo asked to leave Old Trafford earlier this summer. Despite being strongly connected with clubs like Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea, all potential high-profile suitors decided against pursuing a transfer.

Ten Hag has officially stated that Ronaldo would remain at the club despite recent talks between Napoli and his previous team Sporting CP.

"It is clear, of course. We need quality players. You need more to cover all the games to keep the consistency going. That's what we strive for," he said.

Ten Hag was also asked about the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, to which he added: "This squad will play from September until January, at minimum, this season."

Ronaldo has started just one game for United so far this season - their 4-0 thrashing at Brentford - and the Red Devils have looked more of a cohesive attacking unit in their last two games with Marcus Rashford starting up top.

United travel to Leicester City on Thursday looking to record three successive Premier League wins for the first time since last December.
