Cricketer Al-Amin gets anticipatory bail in domestic violence case

The High Court has granted an eight-week anticipatory bail to Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain in a domestic violence case.

A high court division bench comprising Justice Md Rezaul Hasan and Justice Md Atabullah passed the order on Tuesday.

The High Court ordered him to surrender before the judicial court after eight weeks.

Lawyer Syed Mamun Mahbub and Md Ashraful Islam were in the hearing for bail application.

Al Amin told reporters that he is mentally disturbed. He will tell everything by holding a press conference on Wednesday.

Ishrat Jahan, wife of the national team pacer (pace-bowler) filed a complaint in Mirpur Model Thana on Thursday alleging that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. Also, the victim was forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, the complaint said.

After primary investigation and verification police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence.
