Robi gets new CEO

Rajeev Sethi has been appointed as its new chief executive officer of Robi Axiata Ltd, the second-largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh.

The operator posted the information on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday.

Robi has been without a full-time CEO since Mahtab Uddin Ahmed Robi's resigned as CEO in August of last year.

Since that moment, Riyaaz Rasheed, Robi's chief financial officer, has served as the organization's acting CEO.

In a press release, Joint Acting Group CEOs of Axiata Group Berhad, Hans Wijayasuriya and Vivek Sood said: "On behalf of the Axiata Group Management, we take great pleasure in welcoming Rajeev to the Robi family.

"With market leadership in 4G and digital innovation, Robi is now well-poised for its next wave of growth. At this point in Robi's journey, we are very happy to have a widely regarded prolific growth driver like Rajeev Sethi taking on the leadership role of Robi."
