Mobile internet suspended

In the face of the ongoing unrest countrywide unrest, a government agency has ordered the suspension of mobile internet across the country. Meanwhile, access to social media platforms Facebook and WhatsApp was also suspended. 

The latest move comes just a day after the authorities asked the operators to block access to social media such as Facebook and Messenger just ahead of the students' scheduled nationwide prayer and march on Friday to condemn the killings and arrests of protesters centring the quota reform movement.

Services were opened nearly six hours later.
