AI considered to bring a revolutionary future for startups

A discussion titled "Artificial Intelligence: Future of Startup" was held on Saturday to introduce the evolution and integration of AI with practically every aspect of human life.

The debate was organized by GenLab and supported by the Intellectual Property Rights Consultation Center (IPRCC), the Leuven AI Forum in Belgium, the European Responsible Artificial Intelligence Office, and JCI Dhaka North, with over 200 registered participants and a diverse speaker panel, said a press release.

The discussion is a first-of-its-kind platform that brought together AI enthusiasts and experts from around the world.

Raphael Weuts, Director-General of the European Responsible Artificial Intelligence Office and President of the Leuven AI Forum, Dewan TauhidaAkther, CEO of the Intellectual Property Rights Consultation Center, and Siddhartho Goshwami, Head of Operation, Innovation Design & Entrepreneurship Academy, ICT Division, all spoke at the discussion, which was moderated by Shehreen Ataur Khan, Assistant Professor at Jagannath University and Manager of Research & Publication for GenLab. 

Raphael Weuts led a conversation on how artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved and how it has been interwoven into practically every aspect of human life. Raphael stated in his address that, despite major advancements in the field, gender bias still exists in AI.

Raphael concludes with a vision of a near-future in which AI might well be considered as assisting in the improvement of human lives. "In the future, the major work will be not only the development of AI systems, but also the management and implementation of the system," Raphael noted.

With the expanding sector of AI, Dewan Tauhida Akther put up a clear view on how vital it is to have a strong conception and legal support of IPR. When she pulled out the selfie monkey to clarify the uncertainty around IPR and legal difficulties, the talk became rather amusing.

As a Bangladeshi, Dewan presented her thoughts on the country's current IPR predicament and how it urgently requires more attention. As the Head of Operations from Bangladesh's ICT Division, Siddharto Goshwami, joined the session, she expressed her worries.

According to Siddharto Goshwami, as the globe has progressed in digitizing business endeavors, the government has not sat back. He detailed the efforts they've been making for the past few years to encourage such initiatives on the government's behalf.

The Digital Khichuri Challenge by the ICT division has brought forward initiatives that put the discretionary panel in awe. Siddharto shared a detailed projection of the Government's roadmap to achieve significant milestones in its path of development. “The present condition of the start-up ecosystem is very promising, though it has been introduced just a little while back revolutionary ideas have been surfacing since”, said  Siddharto Goshwami. 

“It feels really bad to put a stop to such wonderful discussion but with the advancement of AI throughout the world it is fascinating that Bangladesh has all hands on deck”, concluded the moderator Shehreen Ataur Khan.
