190MHz spectrum sold for Tk 10,645 crore

The spectrum auction netted the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission roughly $1.23 billion, or Tk 10,645 crore, as all operators bought a total of 190MHz spectrum.

Teletalk, a state-owned telecom operator, won 30 MHz from the 2300 MHz bands in Thursday's spectrum auction for Tk 1,681 crore.

Robi paid Tk 3,361 crore for 60 MHz in the 2600MHz spectrum while Grameenphone paid Tk 3,361 crore for 60 MHz from the 2600MHz bands.

From the 2300 MHz spectrum, Banglalink obtained 40 MHz.

Each operator will be required to pay $6.5 million, excluding taxes, for each MHz of spectrum.
