82 lakh SIM subscribers depart Dhaka

Mustafa Jabbar, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, claimed on Sunday that roughly 82 lakh SIM card customers from various mobile providers left Dhaka between April 27 and 30 ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The minister noted in his Facebook post that these data do not apply to persons because each person can have up to 15 SIM cards.

Between the 29th and 30th of April, some 43,90,000 subscribers of Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, and Teletalk mobile operators fled Dhaka, according to the data.
