5G internet within December: BTRC

All mobile providers will roll out 5G internet by the end of next December, according to BTRC Chairman Shyam Sunder Sikder.

He said that in developing Bangladesh Broadband Policy 2022, priority had been given to grassroots citizens, a technology-based educational system, women, individuals with physical disabilities, and the informal economy

On Tuesday, Shyam Sunder Sikder made the revelation while presenting at a workshop in the city.

In order to execute blended learning, Brig Gen Md Nasim Parvez, Director General (System & Services), BTRC, provided information on the digital connectivity.

He stated that there are currently 12.50 crore internet users and 18.40 crore mobile phone users worldwide.

In 4,431 unions across 1,47,975 kilometers, broadband internet has been linked, according to Nasim.
