Sushma Swaraj's tweet on Kidney failure draws huge response

In her first tweet in seven days, Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said this morning that she is in hospital 'because of kidney failure' and undergoing tests for a transplant.

 

Within moments of her post, she received a massive response from people wishing her a speedy recovery.

 

Some also offered her their own kidneys, reports NDTV.

 

Swaraj, 64, is known to promptly respond to every SOS she receives on Twitter. Tweeple are returning the favour and tweeting the foreign minister with offers of help, should she need it.

 

Swaraj, who was admitted to New Delhi's AIIMS hospital last Tuesday, tweeted: I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless.

 

Within two hours, her tweet received over 4,000 retweets and almost 7,000 'likes'.

 

In the past, Sushma Swaraj has responded to messages asking for help with visas, passports and the like. She also tweets back to those people who ask for assistance with issues she can't help with - requests have included trouble with cars and refrigerators.
