11 die after drinking toxic liquor in India

In two separate incidents, 11 people have died after consuming allegedly toxic liquor in India's Tamil Nadu state.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the deaths, police said, reports NDTV.

Seven people died in Villupuram district and four in Chengalpattu district. Additionally, over 30 others have been hospitalised after drinking the liquor.

"Those who died are suspected to have consumed industrial methanol mixed illicit liquor," said Inspector General of North Zone N Kannan.
