Tulip becomes British MP for 4th consecutive term

Tulip Siddiq, granddaughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has made it to the House of Commons in the UK general election. 

Representing the Labour Party, Tulip won Hampstead and Highgate seat defeating her nearest opponent Don Williams, representing the Conservatives. 

According to BBC, Tulip bagged 23,432 votes (48.3 per cent), while Williams managed 8,462 (17.4 per cent). 

Previously, Tulip was elected as a UK MP for the first time in 2015 from the Hampstead and Kilburn seat. She was also elected from the same seat in 2017 and 2019. 

Tuli was born in London in 1982. She has been living in Hampstead and Kilburn since she was 15, where she studied and served as a local councillor.
