Kamala wins 153, Trump 211 electoral college votes

Donald Trump wins his home state of Florida as both he and Kamala Harris pick up several US states, BBC reports. Trump holds 211 electoral college votes and Harris 153. To become the president-elect, a candidate needs 270 votes. 

So far, Trump and Harris have secured states they're expected to win - the final result will come down to seven swing states.

Vote-counting is picking up in two of them - Georgia and North Carolina - but the result is too close to call.

The second biggest prize is the Senate, which the Democrats narrowly hold. Republicans have taken one seat from them so far.
