Bus accident kills 6 people in India's Mumbai

At least six people were killed and over 40 others injured when a government bus ran over several vehicles and pedestrians in India's financial capital Mumbai late Monday night, a local police officer said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred in the Ambedkar Nagar area.

The bus driver was injured in the mishap. The injured were rushed to a local hospital. The death toll was feared to rise, as some of the injured were in critical condition.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
