Explosions near Tel Aviv, sirens blare across Israel

Iran has launched a fresh wave of missiles at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces says.

Air raid alert sirens are sounding across the country and the IDF has urged residents in Israel to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command, BBC reports.

Israel's Ynet News site says there have been explosions in central Israel and reports of damage to a building in the coastal city of Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv.

The Times of Israel is meanwhile reporting “echoes of large explosions” in the Jerusalem area and says sirens are being sounded across the country, Al Jazeera reports. 

BBC cites an an update from Israel's emergency services following the Iranian strikes that five people were injured by shrapnel. 

A spokesman for Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom says they were njured at one of the impact sites in a bus parking lot in central Israel. No injuries were found at other sites.
