Congress, BJP activists clash in Patna, Kolkata

India's BJP and Congress activists clashed on Friday during a protest carried out by the ruling party over the abusive language used against PM Modi during Rahul Gandhi's rally in poll-bound Bihar.

As per the videos collected by the media, activists of either party are seen hitting each other with party flag poles. Several activists were injured. However, no one has been arrested in connection with the clashes yet. 

A purported video surfaced on Thursday showing the man wearing a Congress flag using a Hindi expletive against PM Modi from the dais raised during the alleged 'voter theft' rally. Following this, the BJP filed an FIR and demanded an apology from the Congress. 

Darbhanga Police said the man who abused PM Modi was arrested.

"In the said case, while registering an FIR under Simri police station, 01 accused has been arrested and is being sent to the court," the police wrote in a post on X.

Following this incident, the BJP brought out a protest rally in Bihar's Patna. Congress also brought out a procession, which led to a clash between the two parties. 

Meanwhile, the tension also reached Kolkata. BJP arranged a protest rally in front of Congress's Bidhan Bhaban in Kolkata. At one point, they stormed inside and vandalised the office.
