Thailand to go to the polls on February 8

Thailand's next general election will take place on February 8, the election commission said Monday, just three months after the current prime minister took office.

"Today the Election Commission has drafted election details and proposed to the Commissioner who agreed that Sunday, February 8, 2026 will be the election day," the commission said in a statement, adding that advance voting would take place on February 1.
