EU ambassadors to hold emergency talks after Trump threatens tariffs over Greenland

EU ambassadors will hold an emergency meeting later today following Donald Trump's threat to impose tariffs on eight allies who oppose his proposed takeover of Greenland.

Trump says he plans to impose a 10% tariff on goods from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland from 1 February - and could later rise to 25%, reports BBC.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer calls Trump's plan "completely wrong", as his relationship with the US president comes under strain.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have been protesting against Trump's plans in Greenland and Denmark.
