Trump says US will 'massively blow up' major Iranian gas field if Iran attacks Qatar again

Donald Trump says the US "knew nothing" about Israel's attack on the South Pars gas field in Iran on Wednesday.

In a strongly worded Truth Social post, the US president warns Iran against further retaliation after it attacked Qatar's Ras Laffan energy complex - the attack caused "extensive damage" but no injuries, Qatar's state-owned petroleum company says, reports BBC.

Iran's South Pars is part of the world's largest natural gas field, with both Qatar and Iran operating facilities in the area - Israel is yet to comment.

Iran launched strikes against several Gulf nations after South Pars was hit, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The attacks have seen oil prices rise by 4%, briefly surpassing $110 (£83) a barrel.

Meanwhile, three women in the occupied West Bank were killed after shrapnel from an intercepted missile reportedly fell on a beauty salon, the Palestinian Red Crescent says.
