US President Donald Trump says he hopes Hezbollah "acts nicely" during the truce, reports BBC.

Israel and Hezbollah continued to trade strikes over the Lebanese border in the hours before the deal came into force at 22:00 BST.

The truce, announced by Trump, is welcomed by Lebanon's president and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, who calls it a "historic" opportunity.

Trump says Iran-backed Hezbollah - which has been fighting with Israel in Lebanon - is included in the ceasefire.

Israeli troops will remain in a 10km-deep (6.2 mile) "security zone" in southern Lebanon, Netanyahu says.
