Starmer says he won't quit after local elections deliver losses for Labour and wins for Reform UK

Keir Starmer says he's "not going to walk away" after early English council results show Reform picking up seats in former Labour heartlands.

Reform's Nigel Farage says Labour is being "wiped out", while Kemi Badenoch insists there are "signs of renewal" for the Conservatives, reports BBC.

So far, 46 councils have declared results in England, with 90 still to go - how are all the parties faring?

No 10 will be relieved there haven't been more calls for the PM to go - but the mood in Labour remains volatile, our political correspondent Iain Watson writes.

Meanwhile, counting begins in Scotland and Wales - the first results are expected around lunchtime.

In Wales, Labour could lose power for the first time in 27 years. In Scotland, the SNP is expected to be the largest party - with a battle for second place.
