Five dead and 86 feared missing after fire breaks out on ferry in the Philippines

At least five people are dead and 86 remain unaccounted for after a fire broke out on a ferry in the Philippines, the country's coastguard says.

The fire broke out on the MV June Aster in waters near the tourist hotspot of Coron, in the Philippine province of Palawan, reports BBC.

The coastguard says 43 people have been rescued.

Coastguard Captain Noemi Cayabyab said the ship was carrying 134 passengers and crew.
