UN chief to meet Putin amid WWIII warning

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is set to meet Russia's Vladimir Putin in Moscow later today.

Talks come as Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned of the "real" threat of World War Three breaking out.

He had earlier also said there was a "considerable" risk of the conflict escalating to nuclear weapons.

But Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba responds that Lavrov is just trying to "scare the world off supporting Ukraine".

Russia earlier said it had destroyed six substations powering Ukrainian railways used to transport foreign weapons.

About 15,000 Russian troops have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace says.
