RMCH opens largest oxygen tank

The Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) has formally opened the world's largest oxygen tank on its campus to satisfy the needs of its patients.

According to RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani, the 30,000-liter capacity tank was opened adjacent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Wednesday afternoon, and it is the country's largest tank.

Dr. Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal, the ICU's in-charge, said that they previously possessed a 10,000-liter oxygen tank, but that the oxygen consumption had increased to a greater level during the last Covid-19 outbreak. They then had to deal with a lot of difficulties as a result of the bad scenario.

As a result, a new 30,000-liter tank has been installed at the previous location, giving oxygen to the 1,250-bed tertiary hospital's indoor patients as well as its ICU in an emergency, according to Dr Kamal.
