5 killed, 25 injured in Rajasthan road accident

At least five people were killed and 25 injured in a road accident in Indian state of Rajasthan late Friday (August 19, 2022) night.

The incident occurred in Pali district's Sumerpur area when a tractor trolley and truck rammed into each other, reports Zee News quoting police.

According to officials, the victims were on their way to visit Ramdevra temple in Jaisalmer district on the tractor trolley when it collided with the speeding truck coming from the opposite direction.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident.

"The accident in Pali, Rajasthan is saddening. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray for a speedy recovery of those injured," said Prime Minister's Office in a tweet.
