Ex-president Hamid's Kishoreganj house vandalised, set on fire

An angry mob has vandalised and set fire to the Kishoreganj residence of former president Abdul Hamid.

The incident took place in the Kharampatti area of the district around 10pm on Friday.

According to eyewitnesses, a large crowd gathered in front of the house. At one stage, they broke the gate and entered the house and looted valuables. They later set fire to a motorcycle parked outside.

Earlier in the evening, a section of people vandalised the Kishoreganj district Awami League office using a bulldozer.

The vandalism escalated tensions in the area.
