Kishoreganj SP also withdrawn over Abdul Hamid’s visit to Bangkok

Former President Md Abdul Hamid's trip to Bangkok of Thailand has led to the withdrawal of Kishoreganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury. 

Bangladesh Police spokesperson AIG Enamul Haque Sagar confirmed the information in a text message around 8:00 pm on Thursday.

Earlier, Immigration Police Additional Superintendent (SP) Tahsina Arif was withdrawn over the incident. 

At the same time, SI Md Azharul Islam, the investigating officer of the case filed against Md. Abdul Hamid at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station, and SB official Md. Solayma have been temporarily suspended.

Former President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka for Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, on a Thai Airways flight at 3:05 am on Wednesday.

Family sources said that he had been physically ill for several months. 

Especially in recent times, eye diseases, kidney and piles problems have increased. 

He underwent treatment at a hospital in the capital last week and now he went to Thailand on the advice of doctors.

Meanwhile, a responsible source at Shahjalal International Airport said that Abdul Hamid went to Shahjalal International Airport around 11 pm on Wednesday. After going there, he got the green signal to go to Thailand after going through the necessary verification at immigration.

A murder case was filed against Abdul Hamid with Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station on January 14. 

The case names former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Saima Wazed Putul and Obaidul Quader, among others.
